Yes, I should have posted this on my birthday. I forgot. Sue me.

This year's birthday present is a Olympus C-7070

I was really drooling over the D-50 but let's be serious.. I don't know what I'm doing with cameras, and I'd never u se the features of the D-50.. so that's a lot of money to pay for a fancy toy.

The C-7070 should take great pictures, be more than sufficient for me to figure out what I'm doing with, and half the price of the D-50. If I ever manage to actually figure out the C-7070 and need something better, then I can at least feel justified in getting a real SLR.

Alas, Amazon sucks... order stuff and they sit on it for 4 days thinking about packaging it, then get around to sending it, so I'll be lucky if it shows up this week.

So even though it's late for me to be talking about birthdays, it's faster than Amazon...
